Nuheat Sponsors Snoezelen Room at Canuck Place Children's HospiceVancouver, B.C. 25 November 2010
Nuheat Industries Ltd. has committed a sponsorship donation of $150,000 over the next 3 years towards the Snoezelen Room in the Fraser Valley Extension of Canuck Place Children's Hospice.
"As a company, we're very excited to be part of this project and for our on-going support of Canuck Place Children's Hospice," said John Rose, President and CEO of Nuheat. "Nuheat has worked with Canuck Place in various fundraising endeavors and we've really come to understand and appreciate the hope, support and care that Canuck Place offers to terminally ill children and their families throughout BC."
During this year's Canuck Place Fundraising Week held in November, Nuheat employees showed their warm hearts and "soles", by donating $17,326.98 to the hospice organization. Nuheat then matched these funds, the final donation amount totaling $34,653.97.
The new Fraser Valley Extension in Abbotsford is intended to help meet the growing need that currently exists by building a 30,000 square foot Hospice. This will double the current capacity. The Nuheat- sponsored Snoezelen Room within this new location will provide a multi-sensory experience through visual, auditory and tactile stimulation. This is a critical room as it helps the children who are heavily medicated to sense different experiences. It is also a room used to help reduce children's anxiety.
