Interested in Nuheat heated floors, but curious what it'll cost to operate? Fret no longer. The Nuheat website offers a simple cost calculator. Just enter the square footage of your room, how long you'd like to heat it and your local electrical cost. The Cost Calculator will generate an approximate per day operating cost. It's that easy.

Nuheat's Tuesday Tip: Just Say No to Nails and Staples

Another tip from our repair team. When running Nuheat Mat cold leads along the subfloor to the thermostat location, do not use roofing nails or staples to secure the cold leads to the subfloor. Nails and staples will damage the cold lead and require repair. Instead, use duct tape.

Nuheat's Tuesday Tip: The Door Stops Here

This week's tip comes from our Technical Services Department. Remember to inform all trades (trim installers, cabinet installers, finish carpenters, etc) that there is floor heating installed on a job. Lately, our Technical Services Repair Techs have fixed numerous damaged mats caused by floor mounted door stops installed after the tiles goes down. A single screw through a heating wire can damage a mat and require repair.

Nuheat's Tuesday Tip: Testing Nuheat Mats

Here is this week's slightly belated Tuesday Tip.

To validate the Nuheat Mat warranty and ensure optimal performance, it's important to conduction insulation and resistance tests before, during and after installation of the mat. For both tests you'll need an ohm/multimeter with alligator clips, or an equivalent devise. During each stage of testing, remember to record the readings in the installation instructions that come with the mat. These instructions should stay with the end-user for warranty purposes.

To start, just sketch a quick bird's eye view of the room and indicate dimensions and your desired thermostat location. Then, snap a picture of the drawing on your smartphone, head to nuheat.com and submit your quote request-we'll take of the rest.
