nVent Nuheat Signature Now Works With Amazon Alexa®

Signature can be controlled using any Alexa device including Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, or Echo Plus. 

Setup and System Requirements

Before proceeding, ensure you have the following:

  • An account setup on MyNuheat.com with your own username and password
  • At least one linked Signature thermostat in your MyNuheat.com account - only linked thermostats can be connected to Amazon Alexa
  • Confirmed that you can control the Signature thermostat(s) via the Nuheat app and/or MyNuheat.com
  • Downloaded the Alexa app on your smartphone
 

Once you have completed the above setup requirements, follow the steps below to enable the Alexa Skill for the Signature thermostat:
(NOTE - screenshots of the app may ​​differ depending on the smartphone being used)

1. Open the Alexa app on your smartphone

2. Click the hamburger icon on the top left to open up the settings

3. Click on ‘Skills & Games’

 4. Search for the Nuheat SIGNATURE Thermostat skill and click on it

5. Click ‘Enable To Use’ which will open the login page on MyNuheat.com

6. Sign into your MyNuheat.com account using your username and password for MyNuheat.com

7. When you see the permission request to link your Alexa account with your MyNuheat.com account, click ‘Yes, allow’

8. Close the app window by clicking 'Done' on the top left

9. Click 'Discover Devices”

10. Click on the Devices icon on the bottom right to see the Signature thermostats that are now linked to Alexa

11. Try some voice commands in the table below using the thermostat name that you assigned to the Signature thermostat or thermostat group in Alexa

Set a specific temperature Changes the 'Set to' temperature until the next setpoint in your program/schedule. The thermostat will resume its program/schedule at the next setpoint time. Set a specific temperature for a specified duration Changes the 'Set to' temperature for the specified number of hours. The thermostat will resume its program/schedule at that time. Set a specific temperature until a certain time Changes the 'Set to' temperature until the specific time requested. The thermostat will resume its program/schedule at that time. Individual thermostat or Group "Alexa, set/turn [thermostat/group name] to [temperature] until [time]." "Alexa, set downstairs to 88 degrees until 4pm."
Cancel any bypass Cancels any changes made to the 'Set to' temperature. The thermostat will resume its program/schedule. Individual thermostat only "Alexa, set/turn [thermostat name] to HEAT." "Alexa, turn living room to heat."
Turn thermostat(s) OFF (aka Away Mode) Changes the 'Set to' temperature to 41°F/5°C and will hold it indefinitely. This effectively turns your floor heating system off. Individual thermostat or Group "Alexa, turn [thermostat/group name] OFF." "Alexa, turn entire house off."
Turn thermostat(s) ON (aka disabling Away Mode) Cancels any changes made to the 'Set to' temperature. The thermostat will resume its program/schedule. Individual thermostat or Group "Alexa, set/turn [thermostat/group name] to HEAT." "Alexa, turn entire house on."
Find out current temperature No changes are made. Current temperature is announced. Individual thermostat only "Alexa, what is [thermostat name] temperature?" "Alexa, what is the temperature of the bedroom?"
Make the temperature slightly warmer Increases the 'Set to' temperature by 2°F / 1°C until the next setpoint in your program/schedule. The thermostat will resume its program/schedule at that time. Make the temperature slightly cooler Decreases the 'Set to' temperature by 2°F / 1°C until the next setpoint in your program/schedule. The thermostat will resume its program/schedule at that time.
